The Santa Hash
Hares: Dogbreath, Girlyboy, Guke, and NFB
Run: 540
It was a lovely day for a hash. Even 2 new boots turned out from Elizabethtown, and some people for Connecticut (Flamer & Hit-and-Run). It was a multi-flavoured event, with all sorts of Hashers pulling out of the woodwork for the great day.
We trundled down to the river, through a culvert, and lost the purple/brown camouflage flour we were meant to be following. Given a choice of 3 tunnels, we naturally followed the wrong one to a big fat “F”. Okay, given the choice of 2 more tunnels, we naturally went through the wrong one again. There were hashers sitting on the median strips of the bypass, running in the ditches, climbing nasty sharp fences that nabbed us in the crotch. There weren’t any hashers following flour! We did find Guke’s car parked at Service Merchandise, with the keys in it! That was just too much – Tin Lizzy promptly moved it. Darth and his dog found some flour in a prickly drain, so some of us followed it to the Jagermeister “F” in the dark tunnel. Darth’s dog wasn’t too happy about the tunnel, or having to go back through it!
Trail was picked up and followed across the park, down several laneways to the railway bridge. That was unless you were Clueless who had run to the end of the mall, and was now coming back along the railway line. Or unless you were Darth, the dog, or the rookie or I who went to the VF outlets and then back by the way of the bypass. That was a thrill -- No, the rest of you found your way across the railway bridge, making fun of Willow in the process, on to the pathway, along the river and then home.
A festive fun was had by all at Johnny & Huns. Many presents were exchanged, much beer and greasy food was eaten. Then off to the hockey game. Hit & Run and Flamer spent more time trying to park their car then actually following the game. PHT, Darth, and Tin Lizzy were doing something fun in the toilets together, but we all had fun! (Not that Flamer remembered much of it). Shitty Hash, it made me whine.
